The open kitchen concept is increasingly finding its way into the designs of modern homes. The kitchen’s dual role as a gathering spot and a functional workspace is a trend that’s witnessing a growing band of enthusiasts. In this specific project, we can witness how seamlessly the kitchen merges with the living/dining room. The two spaces, although unified, maintain distinct identities, thanks in part to the clever use of a breakfast bar as a subtle divider.
Merging the kitchen and living area has bestowed the residence with a sense of spaciousness and an abundance of light. The design’s reliance on lighter shades further accentuates this feeling of openness. The pervasive use of wood – evident in the flooring, the breakfast bar, and select pieces of furniture – infuses the space with warmth and a touch of nature.
The color palette is harmonious, rooted in a foundational shade and complemented by hues from the same spectrum. This choice ensures the environment exudes balance and cohesion. Recessed lighting fixtures cast a gentle, warm glow throughout the home, enhancing its ambiance. Not to be overlooked, the Tom Dixon floor lamp stands as a statement piece in the living room. It serves a dual purpose: providing additional illumination and acting as a pivotal decorative element.
